Zusammenfassung

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming economies and societies worldwide; however, its adoption in the Global South presents unique challenges, including resource constraints, linguistic diversity, and social inequities. This book explores the impact of AI across sectors such as healthcare, agriculture, finance, education, and governance through a series of evidence-based case studies. It also examines the ethical, cultural, and political implications of AI deployment, highlighting marginalized voices and promoting responsible AI practices.

Key Features

  • Highlights evidence-based case studies demonstrating the impact of AI in the Global South.
  • Examines the ethical, cultural, and political implications of AI deployment.
  • Provides practical insights for policymakers, researchers, and innovators.
  • Amplifies the voices and perspectives of marginalized communities affected by AI.
  • Documents real-world experiences across sectors including healthcare, agriculture, finance, education, and governance.

Aimed for students, researchers, policymakers, and practitioners, this book advocates for equitable, context-aware, and people-centred AI solutions. It offers valuable insights into harnessing AI responsibly within complex, resource-constrained environments while ensuring inclusive and sustainable development.
