Zusammenfassung

Now in its third edition, Implementing Multitiered System of Supports in Elementary and Secondary Schools provides a comprehensive step-by-step guide for implementing multitiered system of supports (MTSS).

The book focuses on practical information that school-based personnel will be able to immediately put into practice. The how-to approach for implementing a school-wide MTSS clearly and concisely present issues from assessment and decision-making to intervention across three tiers and leadership. Curricula, instruction, and intervention strategies for each tier are covered in detail. Answers to frequently asked questions and tips for getting started are also provided. Each chapter is extensively revised and updated with the most current research and work in the field.

With this valuable, practical resource, school-based practitioners will be able to put the information they read into action immediately to enhance the implementation of MTSS for their schools and students.

Matthew K. Burns is a Fien Endowed Professor of Special Education and an Assistant Director of UFLI at the University of Florida. He is currently serving as Co-Editor of Remedial and Special Education and is a founding Co-Editor of the Journal of Multitiered System of Supports.

Kimberly Gibbons is Director of the Center for Applied Research and Educational Improvement (CAREI) in the College of Education and Human Development at the University of Minnesota. She works with schools, districts, state education agencies, and national organizations to strengthen Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), literacy, implementation science, and continuous improvement. Dr. Gibbons is a nationally recognized speaker, consultant, and author on evidence-based educational practices.
