Zusammenfassung

"Investing in Health: A Practitioner's Guide to Building Data-Driven Business Cases" is a practical and comprehensive resource for anyone seeking to secure funding and support for health-related initiatives.

In today's resource-constrained healthcare environment, decision-makers require compelling evidence of value and return on investment. This book provides a step-by-step framework for developing persuasive business cases, emphasizing the critical role of data in demonstrating the need, feasibility, impact, and financial viability of proposed projects. This book is unique in its specific focus on the healthcare sector and its emphasis on leveraging data at every stage of the business case development process. It goes beyond theoretical concepts, providing real-world examples, case studies, templates, and tools that readers can immediately apply to their own work. "Investing in Health" is applicable to a wide range of initiatives, from new technologies and clinical programs to public health interventions and research projects, making it an essential guide for anyone seeking to make a positive impact on health outcomes.

The book will also cover the importance of demonstrating the alignment of a project/program/portfolio to the UN's Sustainable Development Goals.

Oswin Newton Kakumanu is a senior programme and project management professional with a career spanning Accenture, Booz Allen Hamilton, Deloitte, Novartis, and Health New Zealand. He most recently served as PMO Manager for the New Dunedin Hospital digital infrastructure programme, leading programme governance on one of New Zealand's most complex health infrastructure investments.

He holds a Doctor of Business Administration from the University of Otago, a Master of Business (Finance) from Lincoln University, a Master of Applied Management from the Southern Institute of Technology, and a Master of Business Administration from Murdoch University. He has been PMP certified since 2009, and holds an extensive portfolio of further programme and portfolio governance credentials, including PgMP, PRINCE2, MSP, and MoP.

He is a registered Better Business Cases Practitioner and Change Management Practitioner, with additional APMG accreditations spanning digital transformation and IT service management. He is a published author with Routledge/Taylor & Francis and Scopus, and remains an ardent learner - someone who treats every credential as a starting point rather than a destination, and who is as comfortable in a doctoral seminar as in a hospital boardroom.

He lives in Dunedin, New Zealand.
