"Thoughts of Diane: Her Words, Her Life, and My Memories" is a retrospective--a different kind of a "love story" between a live-in caregiver and the "special needs" client with whom a close friendship was formed.

The story is both humorous and poignant. You'll read about the incredible life these two women had together, along with the many friends in their lives--including encounters with politicians and celebrities. Oh, the fun they had together at home and in their travels around three other nearby states.

Suddenly, changes began to occur over which neither had any control. There was interference in their home life and ability to "come and go" freely. Finally they were separated--without warning. This part of the story is intended to caution "special needs" adults or their family members to be "wise as serpents." The author warns that some professionals who are paid to advocate for the rights of these citizens can--and do--fail in their obligations.

After the death of her friend, the author began expressing her grief and questions about this significant loss in her life, and after attending a grief support group learned that this questioning is common--even for people of faith.
