Coleman Harper writes about the places memory goes to hide. Raised in Hot Springs, Arkansas, and now based in the Washington, D.C. area, he is a filmmaker, novelist, and U.S. Army veteran whose work moves between Southern Gothic horror, historical fiction, folklore, and the spiritual traditions of the African diaspora. He is the founder of Blerd Corner, a creative studio and publishing imprint built on a simple principle: own the work, tell the truth, and trust the reader. His stories belong to The Otherlight Universe ? a shared body of novels, films, and graphic works concerned with folklore, inheritance, and the quiet violence of being forgotten. The Whistling Came First is his debut novella and the first door into that universe. He is already at work on what comes next.
