Recent winner of an International Impact Book Award for JOHNNY AND JAZZBO A TRUE STORY.Kathryn J. Hardy graduated from Wesleyan College in Macon, GA, in 1977 with a B.F.A. degree in art education. Soon afterward, she followed her love of fashion, gaining notoriety as a fashion designer in the late 70s and early 80s under the brand name Lenora Jackson, Ltd. Her beautiful, unique designs were introduced and celebrated at the finale of the grand opening of the Atlanta Apparel Mart, kick-starting her career. Her designs were showcased in Palm Beach Florida at Bonwit Teller and D. Kylene Boutique on Worth Avenue. There her reputation grew as she began to design Couture for private clients. Her designs were featured in Women's Wear Daily, Glamour magazine and in 1984 she was nominated for the Dupont Designer Award at the Lincoln Center in New York City.After turning down an offer to work in New York with famed designer Bill Blass, Kathryn met and fell in love with her husband, then developed a perfume line under the label, Tursiops Eau de Parfum, selling to resorts across the U.S. as well as Japan, Mexico, and the Caribbean Islands. Together she and her husband retired to travel the world experiencing life through the eyes of many different people and cultures. Kathryn began writing as an outlet for her continuous need to create, publishing her first book, Twelve Days in Botswana Through the Eyes of a Traveler. After meeting Johnny Savage and Otis Ikner, Kathryn found inspiration and motivation to write Johnny and Jazzbo. Ten years were dedicated to writing Dr. Johnny Savage and Otis Ikner's story of adventure, trials, and tribulations during the 60's and 70's as they followed the road to being poor no more. This is a powerful true story of friendship, compassion, and determination under the most difficult circumstances. This historical and adventurous true story told through the eyes of these two young men, one white, one black, will keep you in suspense all the way to the end. Johnny and Jazzbo has been well received across the U.S. and is now being considered by a Hollywood producer at this time.
