ABOUT:
My early interest in developing people lead me to attain a BA Ed (Hons) degree at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University with a view to teaching and lecturing. During my career as a semi-professional I spent five years as a Broker Consultant for a large multinational insurance company.
It was whilst playing in the international arena for South Africa, and meeting many high profile leaders, that I became acutely aware of the importance of leadership, relationships and team dynamics. When my SA Cricket contract ended I decided to retire from the game completely and focus on my business interests. I soon discovered that my purpose was to develop people and after meeting John Maxwell in 1999, I decided to become a leadership facilitator and coach. I am certified through Mentors and Business Coaches International (MBCI).
Looking back I have had experience in a non-profit organization, a large multinational corporate and now my own business. I feel that the exposure to presidents, Prime Ministers, HRH Queen Elizabeth, Mother Theresa and captains of sport and industry, was all part of a plan destined to provide me with the necessary insights and understanding in developing leadership competence and high performing teams.
As a people development practitioner I work with organizations across all business sectors and this has enabled me to write two books - Leading Self and Others and Teaming with ideas.
My wife and I live in Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth) on the east coast of the republic of South Africa and we have two children and a son-in-law.
