The fate of the Arab peoples is not easy. For centuries, their history has been shaped by two vectors: resistance to foreign domination and the desire to reform their own states. The revolutionary events of the Arab Spring became just another chapter in the history of the centuries-old struggle, and Eugene Rogan's large-scale work is about this.
