Ironically, communist regimes lasted less in time than the Pinochet and the junta government in Chile.

This book also emphasizes the surprising fact that the Chilean revolution, which restored both the country's democracy and its economy, had to bear the cost of the Western countries taking sides with its enemies, imposing an extra burden on its defense against totalitarianism.
